Best Things to Do on the Las Vegas Strip
See a Cirque Show
The most famous and best-attended shows in Las Vegas are the Cirque du Soleil Shows.
These performances are world-renowned, award-winning, and all unique. If you only have time for one show in Las Vegas, make it a Cirque show.
You will most likely enjoy any of them, but here are 3 I would recommend:
- “O” by Cirque du Soleil – the clear favorite from most visitors
- Mystere – for a bit of variety and even comedy
- MJ Live – Especially if you enjoy music by Michael Jackson
Experience a Nightclub
Las Vegas is known for its vibrant nightlife, and if you love to party, you must have a drink and dance at one of the hottest dance clubs on the strip.
XS at Encore, Omnia at Caesar’s Palace, Hakassan at MGM Grand, and Zouk nightclub at Resorts World are some of our best clubs on the strip. These are all typical clubs with bottle service VIP options and popular DJs performing regularly.
Tip: Get there early and expect more significant wait times for larger groups of guys. Buy tickets in advance for easier entry.
Women can often get in for free or at a lower cost than men, and make sure you dress your best if you want to be allowed in!
See Some Art
You might not go to Las Vegas expecting to tour fine art museums; however, Las Vegas has some of the most amazing collections and exhibitions in Nevada.
The ARIA Fine Art Collection is where you can find art installations, sculptures, paintings, and more.
The larger-than-life 40-foot-tall dancing woman sculpture Bliss can be seen at MGM Resorts and is a great example of both grace and strength.
You can also wander through the Bellagio Museum of Fine Art, where you can see some of the best artists in the world on exhibit, or head to the Cosmopolitan Hotel, where you can view some of the best contemporary art you have ever seen.
Ride One of the Largest Observations Wheels
The High Roller is one of the largest observation wheels in the world and one of the best family-friendly activities to enjoy in Las Vegas.
The Ferris wheel is 550 feet tall and owned by Caesar’s Entertainment. You will have 30 minutes taking in magnificent 360-degree views of the Las Vegas strip.
Tip: Save money by experiencing it during the day rather than at night. Find Tickets.
This thrill ride allows you to zipline across the LINQ promenade from the top of a 12-story platform more than 1,000 feet above the strip to the High Roller.
This family-friendly ride is an adrenaline rush that everyone will enjoy.
Tip: It is the only Zipline on the LAs Vegas Strip!
Shop until You Drop
Some of the best shopping in the country can be found on the Las Vegas Strip. You will find luxury designers, popular brands, chain stores, and boutiques throughout the hotels and shopping centers on the Strip.
Some of the best are the Forum Shops, Miracle Mile Shops, The Shops at Crystals, The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay, Wynn Plaza Shops, Town Square Las Vegas, The Showcase Mall, Fashion Show Mall, and The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian.
Laugh Out Loud – See a Comedy or Magic Show
Many comedians reside on the strip, with shows available multiple times daily throughout the week.
I would recommend any of these four comedy shows:
- Absinthe – this is a bit raunchy with audience participation as well, more of a variety show
- Carrot Top – very underrated show
- Terry Fator – America’s Got Talent winner and Puppeteer
- Piff the Magic Dragon – a bit of magic as well
Comedy shows are often one of the more affordable entertainment options on the strip as well.
Another idea is seeing a Magic show if that is more to your taste. Many magic shows also have comedy in them, such as Penn and Teller or Piff the Magic Dragon.
Explore New Vegas Hotels – Walk the Strip
The ever-changing environment is one of the best things about the Las Vegas Strip. While some hotels are staples on the strip, others have come and gone, making way for new, innovative resorts and casinos.
Resorts World and Fontainebleau are the hottest hotels that are brand-new to the strip. Resorts World is modern, high-tech, and has an urban atmosphere.
The recently rebranded Horseshoe and even the Park MGM, depending on the last time you visited, are worth a visit for something new.
Thrill Rides at The Strat
When looking for the best things to do on the Strip, you will not regret heading down the Strip to the recently rebranded The Strat. Three thrill rides at The Strat will pump your adrenaline – X-Scream, Big Shot, and Insanity.
All these rides take you more than 800 feet in the air the iconic Las Vegas Strip. You will get some of the most amazing views of Nevada and the strip…If you can keep your eyes open!
Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck
Some people say there is no place more romantic than Paris, but you can get a little piece of that romance right here on the strip.
Sin City can be full of love when you visit the Eiffel Tower viewing deck at Paris Las Vegas. You will enjoy incredible 360-degree views of the glittering strip lights from 46 stories high.
Gondola Rides at Venetian
The Venetian is known for being one of the most romantic hotels on the Las Vegas Strip and a gondola ride with a personal rower will make you feel like you are floating through the canals in Italy.
Gondola rides are also a fun activity to enjoy with your kids and family that will be whimsical and enchanting.
See Some Free Sights
One thing that many people do not realize is that Las Vegas can be a ridiculously cheap vacation.
There are many free attractions on the Las Vegas Strip that the entire family can enjoy, such as the Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcano, Welcome to Vegas sign, Wynn Lake of Dreams, and more.
You can easily catch most of these shows simply by walking up and down the strip in the evening.
Pool Party in Vegas
If you want to keep the party going during the day, you should check out a day club or Vegas pool party.
Wet Republic and Encore Beach Club are two of the best pool parties in Vegas and often feature some of the biggest-named DJs/producers, including Tiesto, Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Diplo, and more.

Enjoy Sports on the Vegas Strip
The sports scene in Las Vegas is as hot as the gambling tables.
Go to a Raiders game at Allegiant Stadium or a Golden Knights NHL game at the T-Mobile Arena. UFC fans love attending matches in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena or boxing at the Convention Center.
There’s also a superb Women’s NBA Team, the ACES, that play at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
